Writers Developing 'The Exorcist' For TV
As we mark the 40th anniversary of The Exorcist this year, a TV series take on William Peter Blatty's best seller is brewing, says Deadline. They hear Morgan Creek, who has the rights to the property, is shopping an Exorcist drama series written by young feature writer Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four, Fables). There is an interest in the series from both broadcast and cable networks. Roy Lee, executive producer of The Ring and The Departed, is set to executive produce. In 2012, Morgan Creek and Roy Lee shopped an Exorcist limited series project with writer, Sean Durkin. Jeremy Slater's is a brand new take on the material.

Top 10 Best Psychos of All Time
10.) Carrie
Poor Carrie, she is bullied at school and then goes home to an abusive mother, but Carrie has a secret. She has a special telekinesis power that allows her to move objects with her mind. At Carrie's school prom she was voted Prom Queen as a joke, and as she was receiving her crown the school bullies poured pigs blood on her. This caused her telekinesis powers to go out of control. Carrie killed most of the people at the prom, and set the school gym of fire. All in all, Carrie is on this list because telekinesis is cool.
9.) The Jigsaw Killer
Jigsaw is one of the most creative killers in horror history. Jigsaw finds ways to get his victims to kill themselves instead of killing them himself. He makes them face their sins, and make them feel "grateful to live".
8.) Annie Wilkes from Misery
Annie Wilkes isn't crazy she's just Paul Sheldon's "number one fan"...right? Wrong. She is absolutely bonkers. She held her favorite author, Paul Sheldon, captive so he would write a book for her. He tries to escape several times but fails. She finally decides to brake his ankles so he can't try to escape anymore. Wow.
7.) Freddy Krueger
Freddy Krueger is not only horrifying, but hard to escape. He tries to kill you in your dreams, but if he kills you in your dreams you die in real life. That is what makes Freddy so scary, if you sleep you die. Which is the case for most of the teens on Elm Street.
6.) Ghostface
What makes Ghostface so scary is that you never know who he (or she) is. Ghostface is always a different person trying to kill Sidney Prescott for a different reason. He can never be stopped because he is always a different person. It gets confusing.
5.) Leatherface
Leatherface got his name because he skins his victims, then wears their skins as a mask. He does this because he doesn't want anyone to see his ugly, disfigured face. After he skins his victims he brings their bodies home to his family, so they can eat them. Yum.
4.) Michael Myers
Michael Myers is an escaped mental patient who steals a mask, and kills babysitters on Halloween night. When Michael was just six years old he killed his older sister, Judith. He was sent away to a mental hospital for 20 years, until he escaped. Now Michael is back to kill his younger sister, Laurie Strode.
3.) Norman Bates from Psycho
"We all go a little mad sometimes". That's right Norman, but some go a little mad than others. Norman Bates dresses up as his mother, and murders his motel guests. Norman's best friend was his mother until she died. To keep her spirit alive Norman dresses and acts like her.
2.) Jack Torrance from The Shining
"I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just going to bash your brains in." These are the words of one, Jack Torrance who gets a severe case of cabin fever, and tries to kill his family. Jack and his family are winter caretakers for The Overlook Hotel. When Jack and his family are snowed in he is "visited" by old hotel guests who convince him to kill his family. Jack Torrance is one of the most iconic horror villains especially for his most famous line "HERRRRE'S JOHNNY!"
1.) Hannibal Lecter
Coming in at number one on this list is the one and only, Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter. Hannibal is known as the classiest serial killer of all time. Doctor Lecter likes to eat his victims with "some fava beans and a nice chianti." Hannibal Lecter is the best psycho of all time because he is not only terrifying, but he is sophisticated and clever.
